Deutsche Bahn (DB) is once again a customer of DER BUSINESS Travel, the business travel brand of DERPART and DERTOUR Reisebüro. Since the beginning of October, a four-person team has been handling booking enquiries from DB train attendants; as of 1 January 2024, an additional six employees will be supporting the railway's event management team.
"We are extremely pleased about this growth and warmly welcome the railway back, as the company was already a customer of DER BUSINESS Travel in the past," says DERPART Managing Director Thomas Osswald.
Under the DER BUSINESS brand umbrella, the DER BUSINESS Travel and DER BUSINESS Solutions divisions offer corporate customers a comprehensive range of services. For its key account Deutsche Bahn, DER BUSINESS Travel takes care of booking enquiries from train crews and, from January 2024, also event management for Deutsche Bahn. DER BUSINESS Solutions, which specialises in corporate hotel purchasing and booking as well as event, congress and MICE services, has been responsible for hotel purchasing for train staff, Deutsche Bahn's event management and the hotel bookings of its business travellers for many years and will continue to do so. "We are delighted to be able to offer Deutsche Bahn our wide range of services from a single source and thus further expand our collaboration with them," explains Osswald.
A team from DER BUSINESS Travel is exclusively responsible for train travellers. It finds and reserves suitable overnight accommodation for the train crew if their shift does not end at their place of residence. "We expect around 300,000 overnight stays a year," says Katja Vortmann, Head of Business Travel at DERPART and Vice President of DER BUSINESS Travel.
In the new year 2024, DER BUSINESS Travel will also be responsible for event management for the railway. This includes the organisation of events for up to 200 people. A total of ten DER BUSINESS employees will be responsible for DB from January 2024.
